    Marks:
    DAUM, FRANCE
    7-3/4 inches high x 12 inches wide
    excellent pre owned condition
I have been the only owner of this bowl.
This is a Daum Pate de Verre Figs Bowl or Vase.  The design features figs and lizards on a honey. amber colored background. It is a magnificent and some of Daum's best work.
Labelled "Coupe Pate De Verre Figues"
Black figs are scattered aroud the body.
Small lizards climbing the foliage.  The high relief design is really striking as can be seen in the photos.
It is translucent and captures light beautifully.
This is the largest piece of Daum's fig series.
It measures about 7 3/4 inches by 12 inches at it widest point.
    It weighs approximately 16 pounds.
    Signed Daum France
excellent condition no chips or cracks.
This piece was hand made in Daum Nancy France workshops by skied artisans.  Pate de Verre items are created from a paste of different colored crushed glass
particles, placed in a mold and then fired in a hot kin for ten days.
The glass particles fuse together forming an attractive Pate de Verre item.  No two Daum Pate de Verre items have the same exact coloration because the particles are distributed differently in the molds.
The ancient lost wax process is used which enables Daum to execute designs that would not be possible with traditional press molding.
Daum has posted a video that walks you through the Pate de Verre process.
